Noonan wants Ahern to answer questions over 'Bertie Bowl'

The leader of the Fine Gael party, Michael Noonan, has called on the Taoiseach to make a full statement to the Dail on the controversies surrounding the Stadium Ireland project.

The leader of the Fine Gael party, Michael Noonan, has called on the Taoiseach to make a full statement to the Dail on the controversies surrounding the Stadium Ireland project. Mr Noonan says that the Taoiseach to so closely involved in the so-called ‘Bertie Bowl’ that he must be held accountable for the series of mishaps that have dogged the development.

However, the Taoiseach says that he cannot comment on the project while the Attorney General is carrying out an investigation into the alleged wrongdoings of the aqua centre part of the campus. Deputy Noonan wants Mr Ahern to make a full statement to the Dail next week instead of repeatedly dodging the issue and claiming it is the responsibility of others.
