The government is been called upon to deal with the crisis in the tourism industry.

The Labour party’s spokesperson for tourism has called on the Government to get a grip on the present crisis facing the industry.

Kathleen Lynch maintains that Minister John O’Donoghue has been ignoring the situation as the figures for this year’s tourism are getting worse.

She says that the Minister for Tourism needs to invest more on marketing on the continent and in Britain.

Kathleen Lynch was speaking in the wake of the Small Firm’s Association’s claims last night that up to 30,000 jobs are at risk because of the fall in tourists visiting Ireland.
