Dublin set for Iraq protest today

An International Day of Action on Iraq event will begin at 1pm in Parnell Square in Dublin today.

An International Day of Action on Iraq event will begin at 1pm in Parnell Square in Dublin today.

The protest is against the ongoing American occupation of Iraq, and supports claims that the human rights violations are worse now than they were during the reign of Saddam Hussein.

Brendan Butler from the NGO Peace Alliance said that the group also wants to make the US military's use of Shannon airport an election issue.
