Pitt chooses film projects his kids will be proud of

Brad Pitt wants his children to be "proud" of his work, and chooses projects with that in mind.

The 50-year-old actor - who raises Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, seven, and twins Knox and Vivienne, five, with fiancee Angelina Jolie - admits these days, his career choices are based on whether he will be happy to show the movie to his six kids when they get older.

He said: "The key for me [when choosing a film] is to leave something behind that will make my kids proud.

"I want to be able to show my films to my children and say, 'Your daddy made this.' "

The 'Moneyball' actor admits he struggled early in his career because he felt "lost" and took too much advice from other people, but he is now much more confident in the choices he makes.

He told Britain's OK! magazine: "When I was starting out, I didn't really follow my instincts. I felt kind of lost.

"You get a lot of advice from people who are trying to advance your career and make money off you - and that isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it isn't always going to lead you to make good films.

"But eventually, I figured out I was in the game to tell personal stories. I wanted to be able to add something to a film that was different to what anyone else could bring."
