The ISEQ-index of Irish shares fell deep into the red this morning slipping 68.32 point to stand at 4502.40 points by midday.
Banking shares added little optimism to the mix with Anglo the only earner reporting a 23c increase to €6.25.
Other banking stocks only served to soured the morning's session as Bank of Ireland fell 23c to €5.87, IL&P plunged 38c to €5.77 and AIB slipped 5c to €8.80.
