The Health and Safety Authority has launched an investigation into a chemical spill in Co Clare.

The Health and Safety Authority has launched an investigation into a chemical spill in Co Clare.

Seven workers - five men and two women - were treated at Midwestern Regional Hospital, Limerick following the incident at Chemifloc. Their injuries were not serious.

The spill happened while staff were loading a batch of bleach, and set off a chemical reaction.

Clare Fire Service said the spill was contained quickly and posed no risk to surrounding homes or businesses.
