HSE to appoint Director of Cancer Control

The Health Service Executive is to appoint a National Director of Cancer Control, to overlook all of the cancer services, both in hospitals and in the community, it was announced this afternoon.

The Health Service Executive is to appoint a National Director of Cancer Control, to overlook all of the cancer services, both in hospitals and in the community, it was announced this afternoon.

The HSE will introduce national standards of care.

It says this new approach, together with screening and treatment, will bring about reductions in the incidence of cancer and improvement in survival rates.
