A double from Thomas Stewart beat leaders St. Pat’s before a big crowd at Richmond Park as Rovers made it eight games unbeaten.

Defender Dan Murray hit a post before Rovers’ James Chambers shot a 33rd minute penalty off a post after Saints’ skipper Damian Lynch brought down Paddy Kavanagh.

But within two minutes Hoops were in front when Kavanagh intercepted a poor Ryan Guy pass to set up Stewart to score.

Stewart got his second just before the hour mark when driving a shot past Gary Rogers.

Alex Williams got St. Pat’s goal a minute from time with a tremendous free-kick, but it was too little too late as Rovers fully deserved their win.
