Trócaire is kicking off a campaign to identify what the Government can do during its EU presidency to support reform of the United Nations.

Trócaire is kicking off a campaign to identify what the Government can do during its EU presidency to support reform of the United Nations.

They say the six-month presidency - which begins in January - is a real opportunity to push the UN to implement poverty reduction strategies.

The campaign follows the Taoiseach's pledge at the United Nations last week to follow through on reform of the world body.

Trócaire's Lorna Gold said the issues of reform will have to be addressed.
