Man killed in forestry accident named

The man who died in west Limerick yesterday has this afternoon been named.

The man who died in west Limerick yesterday has this afternoon been named.

Billy O'Sullivan, 24, from Dromina, in North Cork, lost his life as he and his uncle were moving timber at Woods in Kilmeedy outside Newcastlewest.

Gardaí are investigating the accident which occurred at 11.30am yesterday morning.

A post mortem on his remains will take place at the Mid Western Regional Hospital.

A 4x4 vehicle has been removed from the scene for a technical examination.

The Health and Safety Authority were notified but said that the incident does not fall within its remit.
