Gold: Zola 'deserves another crack'

West Ham co-chairman David Gold wants Gianfranco Zola to continue as manager.

West Ham co-chairman David Gold wants Gianfranco Zola to continue as manager.

The Hammers beat Wigan 3-2 on Saturday to all but secure their Barclays Premier League status.

The win moved them six points clear of Hull with two games to go, and with a far superior goal difference, and Gold believes Zola deserves to stay on.

“I would hope Franco stays,” Gold said in the Daily Express.

“He has been through hell and back. It has been a very difficult season for him.

“Now he knows he is part of West Ham and he deserves another crack.”
