Galwegians went try crazy to secure what was incredibly their fifth AIB League win in five visits to Blackrock’s base of Stradbrook today.

Even without their top try scorer Conor McPhillips, who is on Magners League duty, ‘Wegians ran in seven tries with man-of-the-match David Slemen tallying up 17 points.

Captain Ambrose Conboy, Anthony Barrett, Kieran Hickman and Ross Davies all crossed for a 27-13 half-time lead.

‘Rock hit back to earn a losing bonus point – David Rowan, Andy O’Neill and Michael Berne touched down in the second half – but efforts from Colin Nbongwa, John Cleary and Slemen completed ‘Wegians’ rout.
