Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a man in connection with an incident of criminal damage in the city.

Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a man in connection with an incident of criminal damage in the city.

They were called to a pub on the North Circular Road just after 2am this morning. The window of the premises had been smashed.

Following a search of the area, a man with a five-litre container of petrol was found hiding nearby.

A 26-year-old man was arrested and is being detained at Mountjoy garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
