Govt renews claim 'No' Campaign spreads confusion on Lisbon
The Government has renewed its claims that the 'No' side has been spreading confusion during the Lisbon Treaty referendum campaign.
It says this is one of the reasons for the rise in support for the 'No' campaign.
A poll published in yesterday's Irish Times revealed a surge in the number of people who plan to vote 'No' in the referendum on Thursday.
Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan is accusing Sinn Féin and the 'No' campaigners of actively promoting confusion:
“They have promoted arguments which have they have barely believed in themselves,” Minister Lenihan said.
“They argue about neutrality for example, yet Kofi Anan, the former head of the United Nations wants a Yes vote to the Lisbon treaty so that UN peacekeeping can be supported,” he added.
