Offaly lead by two at the break

Offaly lead Limerick by two points at half-time in their All-Ireland qualifier tie at Semple Stadium.

Limerick 0-10, Offaly 1-09 (half-time)

Offaly lead Limerick by two points at half-time in their All-Ireland qualifier tie at Semple Stadium.

Brendan Murphy has been the star of the first half – he kicked his sixth Championship goal to the net in the fifth minute after a meandering and unchallenged solo run from midfield, and scored three points from play.

Brian Carroll and Rory Hanniffy (4) were causing trouble for Offaly while Niall Moran, Clem Smith and Donncha Sheahan hit two each for Limerick.

Dual player Conor Fitzgerald added three and James O’Brien – a late replacement after Brian Begley failed a late fitness test – tacked one over.
