Limerick champions Drom-Broadford caused arguably the biggest upset in Munster club football championship history when they dumped Nemo Rangers out of this year's competition.

Nemo were appearing in the Munster championship for the 17th time and had only lost twice before, to Thomond College in 1977 and Dr Crokes in 2006.

Drom-Broadford, hoping to become only the second Limerick club to lift the Munster title, led 0-04 to 0-02 at half-time at the Gaelic Grounds.

Paul Kerrigan and James Masters pointed Nemo level at 0-05 apiece but efforts from Derry McCarthy and Garrett Noonan saw Ned English's men prevail.

Noonan, Seanie Buckley and Michael Reidy top-scored for Drom-Broadford with 0-02 each, while Barry O'Driscoll (0-02) finished as Nemo's leading marksman.

Afterwards, victorious Drom-Broadford captain Tom McLoughlin said: "We are over the moon. It will shorten the winter for us knowing that we have a Munster final in three weeks' time.

"We will celebrate tonight and on Tuesday we'll start to think about the final."
