Carry on Screaming in Scary Movie 3

A series of spoof horror films - good, bad and indifferent - returns with a terrific cast, a new director (replacing the Wayans brothers, whose SM2 was disappointing), a plot even, lots of awful jokes and lots of old films recalled.

That's the problem with films such as this, how do you satirise a horror film?

This one tries hard to find something new to bring us and while it doesn't succeed it does have a couple of clever moments and it does manage to be entertainingly cringing.

Since we know this is more of a comedy than an outright frightener we know we don't have to cower behind the sofa, so how scary can Scary Movie 3 be?

Let's not get too complex. We know what the series is all about, so just grab another handful of popcorn and enjoy it.
