Yoko Ono, the widow of John Lennon, has said she still feels like the pair are together and the Beatles star tries to give her advice on what she should do in life.
The 69-year-old also said she found the loss of her husband "extremely painful" after he was shot outside their home in New York on December 8, 1980.
In an interview for the Mail on Sunday’s Night & Day magazine, Ono said: "Of course I miss him. But on a spiritual level, you know, I feel like we’re still together.
"Sometimes I feel that John is telling me what to do. I don’t necessarily do what he tells me, but it’s very nice to know that he’s concerned."
Ono also speaks of her feelings of vulnerability because of people’s perceptions of her as a "dragon lady" who broke up the Beatles.
"I’m just as vulnerable as anyone. That’s why I wear my glasses, to protect myself. They’re a barrier.
"Of course, they are prescription lenses, because it’s hard for me to see. But without my glasses I would feel naked," she said.
