ISEQ climbs steadily in morning trading

The ISEQ has climbed steadily in morning trading today, already standing up 49.95 to 6,017.13.

The ISEQ has climbed steadily in morning trading today, already standing up 49.95 to 6,017.13.

Financial stocks have fared well. Allied Irish Bank shares have added 3c to €14.90 while Bank of Ireland shares have climbed 13c to €11.60.

Shares in Anglo Irish Bank have risen 18c today to €17.18. Irish Life & Permanent shares have climbed 10c to €13.25.

Ryanair shares are trading very steadily today, climbing 24c to €5.54 today. Ryanair today announced passenger growth of 10% for November, although its load factor slipped slightly.

Pharmaceutical giant Elan has started the trading session badly, falling 38c to €19.50.

Building materials group CRH has climbed 18c to €19.35 today.

The most traded shares today are Ryanair, Bank of Ireland, Anglo Irish Bank CRH and eircom.
