The National Consumer Agency says significant savings can be made by switching providers for a range of services such as electricity, broadband and mobile phones.
The agency says 80% of people who switch service provider save money as a result of the move.
It says 25% of mobile phone users have switched their operator at some stage, while 14% of broadband users have also changed to a new provider.
Four per cent of electricity customers have also switched companies in the last 12 months.
