Dublin City Council will unveil a new rent-to-buy scheme later today, which will allow people to rent for three years before making a decision to buy.

The rent will be offset against the price of the house. The scheme is open to first-time buyers earning less than €55,000 a year.

More than 90 properties from the council's affordable housing stock are to go on sale in Rialto, Finglas and Glasnevin.

Priority will go to those already on the council's affordable housing list.
