Families in Belfast subjected to racial attacks

Belfast police are investigating a string of attacks in the city last night, which they believe were racially motivated.

A gang of men broke into a house in the Lower Donegal Road area, which was occupied by a man and two pregnant women.

The pregnant women were assaulted and the man was hit in the face with a brick. He suffered a suspected broken nose.

Shortly after, the windows of two nearby houses were smashed. One of the houses contained two young babies. As a result of the attacks, the occupants have left their homes.
