FF Councillor 'very disappointed' with Micheál Martin
A Fianna Fáil Councillor has refused to comment on whether she has faith in her party leader Micheál Martin.
Deirdre Heney won the party's selection convention in the constituency of Dublin Bay North during the summer.
Last night, Fianna Fáil confirmed that former Junior Minister Sean Haughey had been added to the ticket for the General Election - prompting a claim from Councillor Heney that the "old boys' brigade is alive and well".
Fianna Fáil responded that the party leader has no role in selecting election candidates.
Councillor Heney said that although she will remain in the party, she is not impressed.
"I am very disappointed in what Micheál has allowed happen to me," she said.
"Absolutely - Fianna Fáil is my party, I'm going to try to get a seat for Fianna Fáil.
"But unfortunately, I think it could result in [both of] us getting no seat because the vote will be split."
