Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority have launched seperate investigations after a man was killed in an industrial accident in county Cork.

Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority have launched seperate investigations after a man was killed in an industrial accident in county Cork.

The man is believed to have died following an accident at a scrapyard at Jamesbrook in East Ferry shortly before 9pm last night.

Fire and ambulance crews rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised, but the 49-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is believed the man was from the locality.
