David Moyes today expressed his disappointment at the departure of Sam Allardyce from Newcastle.

The Everton boss, whose name has been one of many linked with the vacancy at St James’ Park, revealed he had no intention of leaving Goodison Park.

Of Allardyce being out of work, Moyes said: “I’m really disappointed.

“Sam will be back working in three weeks, maybe three months. There will be load of clubs wanting Sam Allardyce.

“Maybe on this occasion it just wasn’t the one for Sam.”
