Elderly woman dies in car accident

An 82-year-old woman has died following a two-car collision in Kilmeaden, Co. Waterford.

An 82-year-old woman has died following a two-car collision in Kilmeaden, Co. Waterford.

The accident occurred at Whitfield, Kilmeaden (the N25) at 10.55pm last night.

The deceased was a rear seat passenger in one of the vehicles. There have been no reports of anybody else injured.

The deceased is from the United States. Tramore Gardai are said to be investigating the cause of the accident.
