Wagner Fiuza-Carrilho has hinted Simon Cowell planned Cheryl Cole's departure from 'The X Factor' all along.
The eccentric singer - who reached the live finals stage of the ITV1 show last year - thinks the 51-year-old music mogul is a "very clever man" and could have orchestrated the 'Promise This' hitmaker's hiring and subsequent firing from the US version of the talent contest.
Speaking at the launch of HD Brows at London's Embassy Club last night, he said: "Simon Cowell is a very clever man, a very, very clever man. Whether he planned it or not, I don't know for sure, but he always thinks about what he is doing.
"Cheryl is a beautiful person with a beautiful soul and I think it's a shame she's not going to be on the show. I understand her accent perfectly. I think they have made a big mistake."
Wagner recently admitted he doesn't think 'The X Factor' will work without Simon after he quit his role on the judging panel to concentrate on the US launch.
He said: "I thought Simon would be flying between each show. It's so connected to him and he knows how much the British people love him. He knows how important it is that he's there, so I thought he would be. It is Simon's show."
