Jockey Alan Dempsey was taken to hospital with a suspected broken jaw after a fall from Forever Eyesofblue at the last fence in the Seguro Holidays Novices' Handicap Chase won by Falchion.

Forever Eyesofblue was in second place but beaten when he came down, and King Of The Artic was badly hampered by the fallen horse. His rider Peter Buchanan was unseated but escaped injury.

Only two of the seven runners completed the course, with Falchion putting up a good display of jumping to beat Case Of Poteen by a distance in the hands of Wilson Renwick.
