A new EU directive to charge truckers for air and noise pollution is being criticised by a Fianna Fáil MEP.

A new EU directive to charge truckers for air and noise pollution is being criticised by a Fianna Fáil MEP.

Pat the Cope Gallagher, who voted against the inititive in the European Parliament, has said it will leave Ireland uncompetitive.

Each member state can decide whether or not to introduce the charges.
