A teenage girl questioned over the death of a 10-year-old who took ecstasy in the UK will not face criminal charges, police said today.

The 17-year-old had been arrested and questioned along with a man and a woman, both aged 20, over the death of Jade Slack near Lancaster in July.

The man and woman were due to answer police bail tomorrow but that has now been extended to October 29 to give detectives time to carry out further inquiries, police said today.

The 17-year-old has been told no further action will be taken against her, a spokeswoman added.
