A jury at the Central Criminal Court has found a Dublin bookmaker not guilty of murdering his wife in 1997.
Paul O'Donoghue was hugged by friends when the jury returned its unanimous verdict after spending last night in a hotel.
The 44-year-old, from Aberdeen Street, had pleaded not guilty to murdering Miriam O'Donoghue at her home in Mulhuddart.
The prosecution had alleged that he killed her and scattered objects around her house to make it look like a burglary, but he told Gardai he was with his children on the weekend of the murder.
