Ennis chosen as Ireland’s Tidiest Town for 2005

Ennis in Co Clare has beaten off competition from almost 700 other locations nationwide to win this year's Tidy Towns competition.

Ennis in Co Clare has beaten off competition from almost 700 other locations nationwide to win this year's Tidy Towns competition.

The Ennis Tidy Towns Committee was presented with the winning trophy and a cheque for €15,000 at a special ceremony in Dublin today.

Elsewhere, Moynalty in Co Meath won the Tidiest Village award for 2005, while Lismore in Co Waterford was chosen as the Tidiest Small Town.
