A suspected gas blast has injured nine, one seriously, and partially demolished a downtown building in a northern Spanish city, officials said.

A suspected gas blast has injured nine, one seriously, and partially demolished a downtown building in a northern Spanish city, officials said.

A spokeswoman for the municipal government of the city of Logrono says the explosion destroyed the third and fourth floors of a building in Gran Via, the city’s main boulevard.

Rubble was strewn across the street after the blast rocked the prosperous city, capital of the wine producing region of Rioja.
