Soulful night of rockin' blues as Imelda May takes the LATM stage
It was a fresh and feisty looking Imelda May that took to the stage at Live at the Marquee with a new-look do, but her classic, rock, pop, blues and soul sound remained untouched, much to the delight of the eager Cork audience,
The pop-rock princess did not disappoint her legion of fans who were in awe of her new hairstyle, which was the talk of the mosh-pit for much of the night.

The crowds were well warmed up by a stellar Stephanie Rainey who played a blinder with her homegrown songs and piercing vocals.
But there was only one main act and it was the woman herself that the masses had gathered to see and hear and boy was there plenty for the senses to take in.
Hitting the stage just before 9pm, Imelda wasted no time in getting stuck into the big hits banging out ‘Tribal’, ‘Wild Woman’ and ‘Big Bad Handsome Man’.
Bouncing around the stage with energy and enthusiasm Imelda and her talented band followed it up with the classic ‘Love Tattoo’ before bringing out some newer tracks ‘Wicked Way’ and ‘Five Good Men’.
Young and old were brought together by the common interest in a good rock and soul session and they were not disappointed on the night with ‘Hell Fire Club’ getting the crowds going and other hits such as ‘Road Runner’, ‘It’s Good To Be Alive’ and ‘Psycho’ sending the singer and her very large entourage into overload.

Imelda’s low cut fringe wasn’t the only thing being showcased on the night as the crowd were treated to a taste of the new album with a slow sultry song that went down well.
The vocal display on the night was deliciously on point and the singer’s love for the stage was enhanced by her engagement with the audience who lapped up her every word.
An hour after gracing the stage Imelda brought out the big hitter with ‘Johnny Got a Boom Boom’ and hit a homerun with touching renditions of ‘Shot Me Down’ and U2’s hit ‘All I Want Is You’.
The night ended on a high with a musical onslaught from the band members, Al Gare, Dave Rushton and Dave Priseman before a satisfied crowd were sent happily on their way.
Another successful night at Live at the Marquee and an evening to remember for many Imelda May fans.
