The Green Party has accused the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources of being unambitious in his approach to developing our renewable energy resources.

The Green Party has accused the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources of being unambitious in his approach to developing our renewable energy resources.

The party's energy spokesman Eamon Ryan is calling on Minister Dermot Ahern to push for more wind energy contracts from the European Commission than the 140 megawatts he has proposed.

Deputy Ryan says Ireland has exceptional wind resources and has the potential to become a world leader in renewable energy.
