Derry's hopes of staying in Division One of the National Hurling League were dealt a blow when they lost against Offaly at Lavey.

Derry's hopes of staying in Division One of the National Hurling League were dealt a blow when they lost against Offaly at Lavey.

The home side led by two points at the break after playing with the aid of a stiff breeze.

However, Offaly took advantage in the second half through a Ger Oakley goal and never looked like losing the game.
