OJ Simpson denies road rage charges
A lawyer for OJ Simpson has filed an innocent plea on charges he pulled the glasses off a motorist during a traffic row.
The written plea means he is not required to be in court in Miami on Monday when a trial date wil be set.
Defence lawyer Yale Galanter said he would attend to represent Simpson.
OJ Simpson is charged with "felony auto burglary and misdemeanour battery" and if convicted faces up to 15 years in prison on the burglary charge and up to one year in county jail on the assault charge.
Motorist Jeffrey Pattinson told police that on December 4 last year he slammed on his brakes and sounded his horn at a black Lincoln Navigator after he saw the sports utility vehicle drive past a stop sign.
The Navigator stopped, Simpson got out, argued with Pattinson briefly and allegedly scratched him when Simpson pulled off Pattinson's glasses.
OJ Simpson acknowledges the two men argued but denies any wrongdoing.
