Britt Ekland is looking for backers for a film based on her former husband Peter Sellers.

She plans to make a movie of their turbulent five-year marriage, but is reportedly having trouble raising the finance.

One industry insider told PeopleNews.com: "Making a film about Sellers is a fantastic idea, but the feeling is she's too close and it won't be objective."

Swedish-born Britt, 57, once said of the former Goons Show star: "He was a messed up person - a manic depressive who should have been on medication."

The pair wed in 1964, just 10 days after meeting. Ekland was the second of Sellers's four wives and their daughter Victoria is now an actress.
