17 people have now been confirmed dead after a plane crashed near Findel Airport in Luxembourg.

17 people have now been confirmed dead after a plane crashed near Findel Airport in Luxembourg.

Reports suggest only five survivors were pulled from the wreckage of the plane, which was carrying 19 passengers and three crew.

Emergency crews were spotted rushing to the scene at around 9.15am Irish time.

The airport has been shut down as emergency crews deal with the accident.

Flights to and from Luxembourg have been diverted to other airports in the region.

The plane - a Luxair Fokker 50 - flying to from Berlin to Luxembourg, had been in operation since 1991.
