Discussions on the future of Tipperary senior hurling boss Nicky English will take place on Tuesday evening next at the monthly meeting of Co Tipperary GAA Board.
Rumour is rife within the Premier County that the former Allstar hurler will pack it in following his side's defeat at the hands of Kilkenny in the All-Ireland semi-final some weeks ago and already a number of names have been thrown into the ring.
Former selector Michael Doyle, Camogie Manager Michael Cleary, minor hurling boss Paddy McCormack and former Allstar Declan Ryan have all been mentioned in dispatches.
Also in the running are Fr Tom Fogarty who has just resigned as Offaly manager, and current Antrim boss Dinny Cahill .
At the last meeting of the Board, Chairman Con Hogan told delegates that the selectors were taking time out for 'reflection and contemplation' and would make a decision about their futures at a later date.
The triumvirate of Nicky English, Jack Bergin and Ken Hogan have been at the helm for four
years and enjoyed considerable success winning an All-Ireland and Munster crowns in 2001 and two National League titles in that time also.
The Board executives are expected to come to delegates on Tuesday in Thurles with a proposal which can be either ratified or turned down.
