Two charged with false imprisonment

Two men were today charged with falsely imprisoning a Limerick man who was later found dead on a roadside in January.

Two men were today charged with falsely imprisoning a Limerick man who was later found dead on a roadside in January.

The pair appeared at Limerick District Court following their arrest on Friday as part of the investigation into the murder of 36-year-old Kieran Keane.

They were charged with falsely imprisoning Mr Keane and his nephew Owen Treacy.

Both were refused bail and were remanded in custody until April 3.

Mr Keane was found shot dead with his hands tied behind his back just outside the city. Mr Treacy was injured in the same incident.
