Arnotts denies Mary Byrne was paid €20,000

Arnotts has declined to comment on speculation that 'X-Factor' sensation Mary Byrne was paid more than €20,000 to open their sale in Dublin yesterday.

Arnotts has denied newspaper reports that X-Factor sensation Mary Byrne was paid more than €20,000 to open its sale in Dublin yesterday.

The 51-year-old singer arrived at the Henry Street Department store in a Rolls Royce to cut the red ribbon.

She entertained fans by performing a number of songs, including 'It's A Man's World', which was her most requested number during 'The X-Factor'.
