Politicians to meet Quinn Insurance workers

The Agriculture Minister Brendan Smith is among a group of politicians meeting employees from Quinn Insurance later today.

It follows the High Court's appointment of two provisional administrators to the company.

The High Court moved to appoint two provisional administrators to run Quinn Insurance following an investigation by the Financial Regulator.

Businessman Sean Quinn has strongly criticised the move saying it is threatening thousands of jobs.

That is something not lost on the company's employees who last week protested against the move outside the Dáil in their hundreds.

Yesterday politicians in the North met with a group of employees in Fermanagh.

This afternoon the Agriculture Minister Smith and Sinn Féin's Caoimhín O'Caolain will meet with workers at the Quinn packagaing plant in Cavan.
