A house has been targeted with a live pipe bomb in Dublin.

Gardaí were alerted on Sunday night when an anonymous caller informed them that there was a pipe bomb at the door of a house on Crumlin Park.

On arrival at the scene Gardaí evacuated all houses in the immediate area and after examining the device they called-in the army bomb disposal team.

The device was examined and confirmed to be a pipe bomb.

The army then made the device safe and removed it.

This is the second incident of its kind in the Crumlin area this weekend after a pipe bomb was found under a car early on Sunday morning.
