Gardaí say a man who was assaulted in a Dundalk pub at the weekend has died.

Gardaí say a man who was assaulted in a Dundalk pub at the weekend has died.

Sixty-year-old Laurence Michael McGeown was punched in an attack on Friday night.

Mr McGeown had been on a life support machine at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

A man is still being questioned about the incident.
