Tom George's exciting prospect Idle Talk has been lined up to make his first appearance of the season at Cheltenham this weekend.

The seven-year-old has two possible options at the Open meeting, with either the Grade Three Servo Computer Services Trophy Handicap Chase on Saturday or Sunday's Jersey Graduation Chase on the agenda.

Runner-up to Star De Mohaison in the Royal & SunAlliance Chase in March, he finished off the campaign as a novice when fourth to Run For Paddy in the Scottish Grand National.

"The plan is to run at the meeting although which race he will contest is still undecided," said George. "We want to run him but we are looking for good ground.

"I am delighted with him at present and he has really strengthened up since last season. I'm thrilled with how he has been working, he looks to be progressive and he's in very good form.

"He's pretty fit and has done plenty of work, and he's in good enough shape to run a big race whichever contest he goes for, although he's a young horse and will get better as the season progresses."

If tackling the Servo Computer Services Trophy, Idle Talk could take on the likes of Betfred Gold Cup hero Lacdoudal, as well as top-class chasers Take The Stand and Sir Rembrandt, but George is hoping his charge will be contesting top honours this season.

"The Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Newbury is a possible target as is the Welsh National at Chepstow, but we've got loads of options with him," he added.
