Lucinda Creighton 'appalled' Enda Kenny would even consider Lowry deal

Renua Ireland leader Lucinda Creighton has said it is appalling that the Taoiseach is even considering doing business with Michael Lowry.

Deputy Creighton said that she wants nothing to do with politicians such as Deputy Lowry who have had findings made against them by tribunals.

The Taoiseach and Tánaiste have distanced themselves from Mr Lowry after speculation that they would do a deal with him to get back into government, but did not definitively rule out such a deal.

Lucinda Creighton said even considering such a deal is appalling.

"We have absolutely no interest in doing business with politicians who have had adverse findings against them by a tribunal of inquiry in the lifetime of this Dáil," she said.

"It's not an historical event. It's very recent. Enda Kenny said in the Dáil in 2011 that he accepted the findings of the Moriarty Tribunal in full...and now is refusing to rule out a coalition with Mr Lowry.

"I think it's appalling."
