Kilkenny hurler Eddie Brennan has been cleared of "attempting to strike opponent" by the Central Hearings Committee.

Kilkenny hurler Eddie Brennan has been cleared of "attempting to strike opponent" by the Central Hearings Committee.

Brennan was sent off and reported by the referee in their game with Waterford on March 1.

Brennan was cleared based on video evidence and a recommendation from the Central Competitions Control Committee.

Kerry Co Board requested a hearing to appeal the penalty proposed by the Central Competitions Control Committee for "disruptive conduct by their players and officials" immediately after the game against Kerry on February 15.

The Central Hearings Committee, at its meeting last night, imposed a fine of €2,000.

The appeal on behalf of Tyrone footballer Ryan McMenamin went before the Central Appeals Committee last night was unsuccessful.
