Gardaí have released the name of the 21-year-old man who died yesterday after being stabbed in Waterford City.

Joseph Cummins of Cairnwood in Tramore died after being attacked in a house on the Lower Grange Road yesterday afternoon.

A post mortem carried out today has confirmed he died as a result of a stab wound.

One man, who is in his 30s, is being held in custody in connection with the death at Waterford Garda Station.
