A pedestrian has died following a crash on the N2 in Meath this morning.

Gardaí appeal for witnesses after pedestrian dies in Meath accident

A pedestrian has died following a crash on the N2 in Meath this morning.

The man was fatally injured when he was struck by a car between Ashbourne and Slane at Tuiterath.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Navan Mortuary where a post mortem is to be arranged.

A section of the N2 is currently closed for a forensic investigation. Diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Navan Garda Station.
